MCR TV Premiere This Week!
Well friends, it’s here. We’ve been working so hard prepping this series and putting on our weekly shows we’ve hardly had time to stop and appreciate the reality that starting this week, Music City Roots will be on televisions across the country. The 13-episode series officially premieres on its host station, Nashville Public Television (Channel 8 here in town) on Friday night at 7 pm, and then, through the good graces of American Public Television, it will pop up on stations reaching more than half the country. Way more than half in fact. Initially, we had 77 stations sign on, and we’re about to get a report with new members of the family. The first wave includes, just randomly, Spokane WA, Lafayette LA, Champaign IL, Memphis TN, Cincinnati OH and Los Angeles. For a list of stations carrying the show as we know about them, go HERE.
It is beyond exciting to think that people all over the US will get their first taste of Music City treasures like 18 South (show video above), Shawn Camp, Dugas, HoneyHoney, Jacob Jones, Elizabeth Cook, Humming House and Mike Farris. Moreover, we’re featuring incredible talents who pass through town, playing our stage in between some of the finest venues in the country, like Robin & Linda Williams, Scott Miller w Rayna Gellert, St Paul and the Broken Bones, Drivin’ N’ Cryin, Della Mae and Lake Street Dive. See a rundown of all the artists, show by show HERE.
We’re having a party on Thursday evening to say thanks to our production partners and especially our underwriters: Belmont University, Colonel Littleton, Griffin Technology, The Nature Conservancy and Star 129 Diamond. More information about all of them can be found HERE.
Thanks to everyone who’s been part of our journey so far. Much more to come.
